Going to events can be hard. Leaving the house in general can be really hard too. Sometimes anxiety, imposter syndrome and the general overwhelming of adult life can prevent us from doing the things we enjoy the most.
It’s happens to the busiest and the best of us; after a hectic week packed full of deadlines, long days at work, general life admin to catch-up on, an evening out could feel like another task to tick off the ole to do list. What if spending time with good company, having good food and putting the world to rights for a few hours is exactly what you need?
After a super exciting, hectic and challenging few weeks, I was invited by Daisy to a Bumble BFF event at Little White Lies. In my head I already had a million excuses lined up not to go: I was still jet lagged, I was too tired, I was run down, etc. but there was a voice in the back of my mind thinking, let yourself go and have a good time.
Bumble BFF is an app to connect with like-minded people and make some new mates. In a world where everyone is constantly connected, it can feel like a lonely place. What I love about events like this is I get to meet the people behind the blogs, discover new and different instagrams to follow and genuinely have a good time.
Enough of my rambles about being an anxious mess and on to the food!
We where greeted with a glass of fizz and boards of delicious Italian nibbles: olives, cheese, focaccia bread and olive oil for dipping, breadsticks.
For my main I went for the Diavola pizza – pepperoni, salami, chilli flakes and vegan cheese instead of mozzarella. This was washed down with a lovely cocktail and chats with the gals Eat Liverpool, My Foodie Journey, Jessiloumilton and Food Thats Delicious.
We finished off the evening with a choice of two cocktails: an Espresso Martini or a Cape Verdi. I went for the classic Espresso Martini, continuing my quest to find the perfect one – The Everyman Cinema’s version is my favourite so far.
A huge thanks to Daisy, Ben, Bumble and the entire team at Little White Lies for a lovely evening! I was kindly invited to this event but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
