On Friday we were kindly invited by Ryan and the team at The Body Shop in Liverpool One to their Christmas showcase. We were treated to an introduction to all the new products you can buy in-store and online this festive season, as well as learning about their Enchanted Forest range. If you need anymore convincing why The Body Shop is the place to buy your Christmas presents this year, here are five reasons why…
1. They’ve reduced their carbon footprint & packaging
The Body Shop have used less material in their gift packaging this Christmas. In total they have reduced cardboard by 220 tons and plastic has been reduced by 25 tons. That’s equal to 926 brown bears and 3,846 red foxes!
2. It’s The Body Shop’s first global campaign to include a UK forest
The Body Shop are donating 1.8p from every transaction this November and December will be donated to their partners, the Woodland Trust and World Land Trust. This money will be used towards building bio-bridges in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, and the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge in Armenia. If you want to find out more about how The Body Shop are protecting and re-wilding these beautiful places, read more here.
3. You can personalise your gifts in-store!
In Liverpool One they have a personalisation station where you can take a picture and write a message to print out and stick on your gift. The Body Shop also have adorable festive Community Trade jute bags that can be filled with their products and gifts. The designs on the bags are really cute and they can be reused for a number of purposes. My favourite idea is using the jute bag instead a a plastic bag for fruit and veg when food shopping.
4. Every men’s shaving set comes with a unique gift
If you’re after an eco-friendly and fair trade gift for a man in your life, The Body Shop’s shaving and beard care kits are perfect. Each kit comes with a completely unique pocket square made from recycled saris. Every pocket square is different and is made by The Body Shop’s Community Trade partner Dhaka in Bangladesh.
5. It’s all adorable and for a great cause!
The Enchanted by Nature range is beautifully done. I am a huge fan of everything involving cute woodland creatures but the fact is all fair trade and eco friendly makes it even better. My favourites are Olivia the Owl gift set (£18) and Dani the Baby Deer headband (£4) – as modeled by your’s truly below.
We were kindly invited to this event but I bought the products with my own money, and all opinions are my own.
