Dostana is a gorgeous Indian resturant in Woolton Village. They recently launched a breakfast menu and we where invited to see what they had to offer.
I love Indian food. I love the spices, the curries, the smell, the naan bread – I love it all! I also love breakfast. After previously enjoying the Mexican brunch at Lucha Libre, I was super excited to try an Indian offering. Despite Woolton being a bit of a journey from where I live, the breakfast at Dostana was well worth leaving the house on a rainy Sunday morning.
I ordered the Big Mumbai and Jon went for the Mumbai Omelette. Manager Mubz informed us that all of Dostana’s food takes a bit longer to prepare as it is all completely fresh and prepared in the resturant’s kitchen. This was fine as good things come to those who wait, and Dostana do unlimited tea and coffee included with the price of breakfast.
The Big Mumbai comes with 2 sausages, spiced scrambled eggs, masala baked beans, mushrooms, Bombai potatoes, turkey bacon and 2 Malabari Paratha. Honestly, everything was perfect and so tasty. You can literally taste the wealth of knowledge and care that has went into the food. I especially enjoyed the Bombai potatoes and turkey bacon (all of Dostana’s food is Halal). The Malabari Paratha was something that I’ve never tried before. I’d describe it as a breakfast chapati and it was perfect for mopping up the masala baked beans.
The Mumbai Omlette is made with three eggs, chopped tomato, onion, coriander and green chilli, and served with grilled tomato and fire toast. The spices that the Dostana chef’s use are so flavoursome without being overwhelming.
Dostana are serving breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8:30am to noon.
We where kindly invited to Dostana but all opinions are our own.
