Addicted to Beauty – Body Shop Event ๐Ÿฐ

Recently I’ve been very lucky and been invited to some lovely events around Liverpool. When I received a message from Ryan at The Body Shop in Liverpool One, I was super excited to stray away from my usual posts about pancakes and Full English breakfasts, to delve into the world of “beauty blogging.”

The Body Shop in Liverpool One hosted a lovely evening, complete with extensive knowledge about their products, tips on how to use each different lotion & potion, and a demonstration of their new Go Bananas Summer range. Everything was put together by Ryan and the super friendly and super informed team at the Liverpool One store. It was a refreshing change from the usual stuffing my face (please note – I still did that beforehand in Our Kitchen).

Here are some of the products we learnt about and used on the evening –

* All products with an asterisk where purchased with my own money

Banana Body Yoghurt*

  • 100% vegan and cruelty free
  • The lovely Harriett used this after giving us a hand & arm massage with a body wash and an exfoliating scrub. It can be applied to damp skin, so it’s perfect after a shower
  • The body yoghurt is a gel cream formula, so it sinks into your skin instantly
  • It’s also cooling, making it perfect in this heat or on holiday
  • It smells like those foam banana sweets!

Ginger Shampoo and Conditionerย

  • The Ginger Conditioner is vegan but the shampoo is not (it has honey in it)
  • This shampoo & conditioner team are perfect for stimulating hair growth. A lovely team member (who I did did not catch the name of) told us how massaging the shampoo vertically, leaving for 2/3 minutes and then rinsing off with cold water can promote hair growth and protect your hair folicoles from damage
  • The conditioner is a non-greasy formula, so it can be used all over your head!

Strawberry Soothing Face Mist*

  • 100% vegan and cruelty free
  • This spray can be used under or over make-up, or on a completely bare face
  • It soothes the skin, hydrating and smoothing out uneven skin
  • This was in the 3for2 skin care offer and I actually wanted to pick up the Mandarin spray (the orange one) but this is perfect for a little pick me up after the gym, when my skin is super blotchy.

Face Mistsย

  • The face mists are a quick and alternitive to primer and setting sprays
  • Each colour has a different “power” – making them like a Power Puff Girl for ya face!
  • They also smell delicious, which is not what I can say about a lot of things because I have a terrible sense of smell.

Eye Colour Stick in Nevada Gold*

  • 100% vegetarian and cruelty free – it does contain beeswax & babassu oil
  • This stick is great for a natural, blended eye make-up look – and also perfect for people like me, who can’t get their MUA mates to do a my face everyday
  • Easy to apply on the go and it is in the current 3for2 beauty & skin care offer
  • I got the Nevada Gold shade, but there’s three other shades to choose from.

Lash Sport Waterproof Mascara*

  • 100% vegan and cruelty free
  • This mascara is oil free, ideal for skin like mine
  • It defines and lengthens eyelashes, but stays on (especially on bottom lashes)
  • Since it’s a waterproof macara, it needs a waterproof eye make-up remover. Ryan and the team suggest their Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover, which I have used before and it’s super gentle and does the job
  • Also on the 3for2 skin care and beauty offer.

Coconut Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub

  • Harriett used this on our arms following a body wash
  • The Body Shop use sugar & saltย in their scrubs, so they dissolve in water
  • This scrub preps skin for shaving or waxing, so it’s best used in the bath or shower beforehand
  • It smells delicious and I couldn’t stop feeling how soft my arm was afterwards!

Star Stamp Linerย

  • 100% vegetarian and cruelty free
  • One end is a super pigmented felt liner, the other is a star stamp – perfect for festivals!
  • This is sold out online so I might have to pop back and pick it up.

We also learnt so much about what The Body Shop offer as a store. I had no idea but they do skin care consultations and facials, plus make-up consultations that are ยฃ20 and redeemable against all products used. The staff areย so lovely, well-informed and so not pushy, making shopping there a completely relaxing and beneficial experience.

A big thank-you once again to Ryan and the team at The Body Shop in Liverpool One, for hosting such a chilled and fun evening. I can’t wait to pop back in again!
