One bank holiday weekend, two brunches

After leaving my retail job behind for the 9-5 life, I have discovered the joy of Bank Holiday weekends. Three whole days off without having to pre-book in advance or beg for a shift swap is truly a dream. The weather this Bank Holiday weekend was also dream, so I took advantage by doing some brunching in the sunshine.

My first stop was breakfast at Bill’s Restaurant in Liverpool One. I’ve ate here before and have always been impressed by the food and the service, so we took a sunny window seat and ordered some brunch. Despite it being a super busy Saturday, there was still plenty of space and the staff where friendly and attentive as always.

I ordered the Bill’s Vegetarian Breakfast (£8.95) and a soy latte, while Jon went for the Eggs Benedict (£7.95) with an Americano. I feel like whenever we go out to breakfast, this is our fail safe choice, and Bill’s did not disappoint. The vegetarian breakfast has a gorgeous tomato hummus on the toast, and is drizzled with a sweet chilli sauce that gives it a kick.

My next brunch stop was on Sunday, when I visited Red Dog Saloon on Bold Street. I’d previously saw RDS advertising a bottomless brunch and I was immediately sold. My friend and I met there for catch up, and immediately ordered bottomless Mimosa’s.

I went for the All American breakfast (£11.75) and Rachael opted for Southern Fried Chicken & Pancakes (£12.50). There was SO much food! The All American is basically the best bits of a Full English with a slide of a huge, fluffy American pancake and syrup. I feel like Red Dog Saloon would be the perfect place to cure a hangover, and is a lot like eating inside of a Frontier Land at Disney World.

Bill’s serves breakfast until midday on weekdays and until 1pm on weekends. They have a website that you can find here. Red Dog Saloon serve their bottomless brunch all weekend, 10am till 4pm. Their website can be found here.

I’d like to give a shout out to the lovely Darcy Dubose for creating the blog’s new header and icon. It’s like she saw what I wanted inside my head and then made it happen. You can find all of her stuff here, and give her a follow on Instagram here.
